The 5th Round of Iran - China Joint Agriculture Committee

On May 14th the fifth meeting of the China Iran Joint Committee on Agriculture was held in Beijing. The meeting was co chaired by Ma Youxiang Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and Hkavazi First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Iran. The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges and reached a consensus on cooperation in the fields of rice wheat and other crops cultivation disease and pest control agricultural mechanization and aquaculture.

Ma Youxiang pointed out that under the personal care and promotion of the two heads of state, the agricultural partnership between China and Iran has deepened, and the complementary advantages and effects have continuously emerged. A sound operational mechanism ensures the continuous enrichment of cooperation content between both parties; In 2023, China's imports of agricultural products from Iran increased by 3.5 times compared to five years ago; The Chinese side has conducted extensive technical training for the Iraqi side in areas such as clean energy in agriculture, poverty reduction in rural areas, and water-saving irrigation. This meeting has identified the priority areas and directions for cooperation in the next three years, which will effectively promote stable and practical agricultural cooperation between China and Iran, and achieve more fruitful results.

Hkavazi highly praised the significant achievements of bilateral agricultural cooperation, thanked China for its consistent cooperation and support, and is willing to work with China to push bilateral agricultural relations to a higher level.
