Liu Jianchao Meets with Iranian Ambassador to China
On August 17th, Liu Jianchao, Minister of the External Liaison Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, met with the newly appointed Iranian Ambassador to China, Bahtiyar.
Liu Jianchao welcomed Bakhtiyar to China for his new career and stated that China attaches great importance to developing relations with Iran. China Iran relations have transcended bilateral scope and have important strategic, regional, and global impacts. The CPC maintains friendly exchanges with Iranian political parties and organizations, and is willing to further deepen bilateral exchanges and cooperation and promote the development of bilateral relations. China is willing to strengthen coordination and cooperation with Iran in multilateral institutions such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and promote regional and world peace and development.
Bakhtiyar stated that Iran China friendly exchanges have a long history, and Iran regards China as a true friend. Iran is willing to work with China to implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state and deepen cooperation in areas such as jointly building the "the Belt and Road". Iranian political parties and political organizations attach importance to the communication channels established with the CPC and hope to strengthen bilateral exchanges and promote greater development of bilateral relations. Iran is willing to strengthen cooperation with China in international and regional affairs, and jointly safeguard international fairness and justice.
